Hi and welcome to Cover Coach!
I'm Toby – the founder of Cover Coach. I started playing tennis when I was nearly 3 and my journey as a Coach began when I turned 16. I've been a Head Coach since 2011 and have coached all over the UK and abroad.
I get paid to do what I love, which is amazing. Coaching tennis keeps me active and I have independence to manage my own hours, and business autonomy to build my client portfolio. I make a real impact on people's lives and, through coaching tennis, I met my fiancé and had my son, so it will always be very special to me.
Work-life balance
I have successfully built my business in London but my hours are very long. I want to strike a better work-life balance now that I am a dad, and I need more time away from being on court to develop, grow and market my tennis programme.Evenings and weekends are busy times for coaching tennis and taking leave, including holiday, sickness, and parental, means I have to spend a long time reaching out to all the Coaches I know to find reliable, high-quality Cover.
Finding Cover
I learned that other Coaches were facing similar challenges and decided to find an easy solution. Cover Coach UK was born - a website that will allow us to post and apply for jobs, and help each other out, short or long term.
By sharing opportunities through this website, we will have a diverse range of roles catering to difference expertise levels and specialisations, in a range of environments, across the country. There are over 6000 tennis coaches and over 5000 tennis clubs nationwide. So, whether you're a head coach too, or just starting out on your tennis coaching career, you will be able to sign up to post a Cover opportunity or find Cover that is right for you, be it for one evening, one day, a week, a month, or several months at a time.
